ONE YEAR ANNIOVERSARY

This week marks our one year anniversary with the St. Mary’s congregation. Where does the time go? When Wanda and I visited with the congregation to interview for the work, you welcomed us with open arms. From the beginning, you made us feel like family. It is truly wonderful to find such a loving group. I believe we know you, and you know us, better than we did when this relationship began. We know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Does that mean we love one another less? I certainly hope not, but rather that our love has increased.

This past year has seen many changes. Some have moved away and others have moved in. Some have experienced death and sorrow, others have celebrated new life and joy. Some have watched children leave for college for the first time and have now welcomed them back home. Some have experienced career changes. We have been blessed to watch as six precious souls have put on Christ in baptism here and ten more through the jail ministry. Several families have placed membership. The congregation has installed two men as elders and four men as deacons. The attendance has increased some in recent weeks as well as the contribution. We regularly are blessed with visitors from other places and from our community.

However, let’s make sure we do not become complacent. There is still much to be done. There is always room for improvement, both in our individual lives and as a congregation. Let’s all give our best and do our best to make year two an amazing year for the Lord.
