A GREAT VBS

Our Vacation Bible School is history. What a great week! Attendance was good with crowds over 70 every night; Monday – 79, Tuesday – 74, Wednesday – 78, Thursday - 87, Friday - 72. We had a good mix of young and old, about ˝ of the number being teens and younger. Great lessons, puppet plays and skits were presented on the theme of “God’s Shepherds.” The children enjoyed the crafts and everyone appreciated the refreshments. I would like to express my heart felt thanks to everyone who made VBS 2006 a success.

Teachers and helpers. It was not difficult to see that you had put many hours into preparing for each night. The lessons were well designed and prepared and enjoyed by all the students. The time and effort put into lessons, costumes, props and other materials did not go unnoticed.

Crafts. It was also readily apparent that you were well prepared. The craft projects were well designed. You spent the largest block of time with the students each night and did so with love and care for each one. You exhibited knowledge, skill, and patience in helping each one to complete their projects. Your labor of love is truly appreciated.

Refreshments. This would include those who prepared refreshments as well as those who served. There was plenty each night for all to enjoy. Those who worked in serving did a wonderful job in having everything ready on schedule. You work is admired by all (especially our stomachs).

Puppets and skit actors. Again, you preparation is evident to all. You were able to provide great lessons in a humorous, entertaining, thought-provoking manner. This may have been the children’s favorite part of each night and we sincerely thank you for your work.

Students. Having said all that, it would all be for naught if not for the students, both young and old, who attended each night. Many were here every night with a smile and a desire to learn more about God’s word. Your interest in studying will reap benefits for years to come.

I believe everyone is covered in one of the groups above, but if anyone was omitted it certainly was not intentional. Our VBS was very successful because of your efforts. It shows what can be accomplished when people who love the Lord and one another work together for a common cause.
