††††††††† Almost since time began, men have been looking for an easy way of doing whatever we have to do; and, admittedly, much progress has been made.In fact, we live in a push-button world.Yet, there are certain limitations. With some things, there just are no short cuts, and I would like to discuss one of those briefly.†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††

††††††††† The apostle Paul told Timothy, ďStudy to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.Ē (2 Tim.2:15).He said this to impress upon our minds that in order to be well pleasing to God, we must know his will; and the only way to know his will is to study his Holy Word.We seldom do all the good that we know, nor do we refrain from all the things that we know are evil. Therefore, it becomes evident that we need to know just as much about Godís word as we possible can; and the only way to learn is to study. There just are no short cuts to knowledge! If there were some buttons that we could push, some valves that we could open, and some levers that we could pull and fill our heads with knowledge, we might be a knowledgeable generation, but it is not that easy. Those who know the word of God are those who have spent pleasant hours reading and meditating upon those wonderful truths. Not all of these will make it to heaven because some are not willing to put into practice the Christian principles that they read of in Godís word. This being true, what do you think will be the lot of those who do not have even this much interest in God?If you waste your time and opportunities in this life, you will have an eternity to regret it.Donít be among the multitudes that fall into this category.†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† ††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††
